Join Us for Ordinary Objects, Extraordinary Stories – a multi-media exhibition combining audio storytelling and artistic interpretations of a series of objects contributed by members of the Creswick community.

From everyday items and cherished childhood toys to rare antiques discover the layers of meaning that our most treasured possessions hold and connect with the stories that shape our lives.

From objects that evoke memories of fleeing a war-torn country, the Gold Rush era of Creswick, a life dedicated to environmental activism or practicalities of living with visual impairment – to items that bring back the legacy and memory of a loved one or a phase of life or career that’s been left behind – Ordinary Objects Extraordinary Stories will provoke you to contemplate what you hold dear and why our possessions can have such an impact on our lives.

Time: Daytime Exhibition: 1pm to 5pm (Saturday), 11am to 3pm (Sunday) Evening Performance: 7pm (Saturday)

Location: Creswick Courthouse Theatre

From 1pm to 5pm on Saturday and 11am to 3pm on Sunday, immerse yourself in a daytime exhibition where you can view the thought-provoking objects that have inspired the original artworks on display while listening to the audio stories that speak to their significance and marvel in local Artist interpretations on display.

Reflect on the works and enjoy a conversation with others while sipping a wine, tea or coffee from our bar.

On Saturday, join us at 7pm for a live presentation of the exhibition as the stories come to life, engage in lively Q and A sessions with artists and contributors, and participate in meaningful discussions with fellow audience members.

Bring along your own treasured object and have your moment in the spotlight as you share it’s story with our host and audio story producer, Jane Nield.

Directed by Tim Drylie, with the invaluable assistance of Tash Middleton, this event promises to be an inspiring and community-driven gathering. Mark your calendars and don’t miss this remarkable opportunity to celebrate the power of stories, objects, and connections! We look forward to welcoming you to this extraordinary event!
